Operation Procedures
This chapter describes the technical procedures that are performed regularly to run MAC-PAC. In general, you need to bring the online system up each morning and bring it down each evening. After the system is down, you need to back up the data and run batch jobs. The time of day when you schedule this "down time" will depend on the needs of your installation.
In addition to daily procedures, this chapter includes information about how to duplicate the database and how to purge/reorganize files. These procedures are performed occasionally but do not usually occur daily.
The Key Concepts section of the chapter explains how MAC-PAC performs asynchronous and batch processing. Make sure that you understand how asynchronous monitors work before attempting to use the procedures.
