Journal Entry Examples
The following provides detailed examples of the journal entries that are generated for various transactions. Note that:
· The cost that is used in Inventory Accounting is the frozen standard or accounting standard cost. This may not necessarily be the same as the standard cost that is currently in place.
· You control the accounts that are actually charged for each transaction. The Inventory Accounting processing will retrieve the account that you have set up under the relevant combination of Category, Type, and Code as illustrated in the Setting Up Account Number Categories key concept in this manual. For example, where the example specifies the Standard Cost Change - Manufacturing Order account, the account that actually will be affected will be the account that is defined on Reference File category 452, Type 20.
