Master Schedule Available to Promise Report - Purpose
MS530E
The Master Schedule Available to Promise Report program (MS530E) prints the Available to Promise report. This report provides the planner with information to determine whether the current master schedule meets demand and whether inventory is available to promise goods to customers. The projected demand and consumable demand are compared, the difference being the net demand. Total demand is determined by adding in unplanned customer orders and any unconsumed demand.
Three totals are shown on the report. The Projected Available is the inventory expected to be available at the end of the period. Available to Promise is the inventory that can be promised to a customer on the basis that this will be available if everything has been promised in previous periods. This is calculated by determining the difference between scheduled production and scheduled demand in the present period. Cumulative Available to Promise includes all the previous available to promise on the basis that this will be available if not promised in the previous periods.
