Sales, Backlog, Forecast Summary - Purpose
SA550E
The Sales, Backlog, Forecast Summary program (SA550E) prints a Sales Analysis report by product class/product subclass/part. It reads the Sales Analysis Report Request file to determine the range of months to be processed. If no request records are found, an exception message is printed on the Report Request Exception report. If a request record is found, it is processed, and the next report request record is read. This continues until no more report requests are found.
To process a request, the Sales Forecast file is read. For each forecast record found, the Sales Analysis and Sales Backlog files are read to determine actual sales and sales backlog for the part. Once all records for a part have been read, the totals for the requested periods are printed. Totals are also printed for breaks in product class, product subclass, and part.
If no records are found for the report request, a message will be printed on the exception report. There are two categories of report requests: Sales Backlog, Forecast Summary or a Sales vs. Forecast Comparison. For both options, the report type can be either financial (F) or statistical (S).
