Coding Standards Required by ITF

Introduction

The International Translation Facility can translate all kinds of terms within the display files, printer files and RPG programs.

A term is a set of characters used on reports and screens.

A term can be stacked.  For example,

PT   is the stacked format for Part  Number
NO

Stacking is required to permit other pertinent information to appear on the report with this field.  EFF DATE is both abbreviated and stacked to facilitate the printing of other data.  When translating stacked field names, the position of the words (upper or lower line) is usually preserved.  The position of each word can be reversed, however, if the user prefers to translate in this manner.

The use of ITF implies that the source code has been developed in accordance with the ITF standards.
