How to Add Help for a New Screen
How to Add Help for a New Screen
1. Access the Help Facility Menu and select the Screen Description Maintenance option.
2. Enter the name of the new screen in the Screen Name field Help for a New Screen. Indicate that you want to add a record.
3. Enter a 45-character description for the screen.
4. Press F3 to create the new record.
5. Select the Help Text Maintenance option on the Help Facility Menu. Enter the screen identifier in the Screen Name field.
6. Enter the help text for the screen. Note:
· If you are entering a large amount of text, you may wish to press F13. Pressing F13 restricts data entry to the Help Text field, eliminating the need to tab repeatedly when you reach the end of each line. Once you have entered the majority of the text, you can press F13 again to return to normal entry and type any data in the additional fields.
· The Copy feature will save time if the information you are entering is similar to text that already exists for another screen. You can copy all text from another screen by leaving the "from tag" field blank or copy a specific portion of the text (by specifying the help tag associated with the text in the "from tag" field).
· The Help Tag field is used to provide context-sensitivity in help processing. This tag must correspond to the 8-character tag used in the DDS to define the corresponding screen help area.
· If you wish to enter Reference, Glossary Name, or Modmark fields for a line, you must select that line by placing a 2 in the Sel field for the line and pressing ENTER.
7. Press F19 to store the text on HP100M.
