Specifying the Report Format
Reference File category 025 determines which format is used to print each of the reports. A default record (with a blank key) is created on the category to specify whether the 132 or 198 format is generally used to print General Ledger and VAT reports. On this record you also specify whether you are in a large amount environment or whether you require additional columns on any reports. This information is used to determine whether the 132 format option is valid. If you do not modify category 025, all reports will be printed with the 132-character format.
The default record on category 025 is used to print each report unless an overriding record has been set up specifically for that report. This feature allows you to print most reports using the 132-character format but to specify that certain reports should use the 198-character format. The description of each report in the user manual provides additional information about specifying the character format for that report.
