Configuration Costing
Configuration Costing
Configuration costing allows you to generate a unique cost for each configuration code and to value inventory and inventory activity based on the configured cost. The way you wish to use configuration codes is specified on the Part Master File (DE100M) in the Configuration Code Option field. Valid Configuration Code Options are displayed in the figure below. Refer to the Inventory Accounting User Manual for information on other costing types.

Valid Configuration Code Options.
With option 0, a part's costs are calculated in the Product Costing Module.
With options 1 and 2, all of the part's costs are calculated in the Product Costing Module. The difference between options 1 and 2 is how lot control is performed. Refer to the Inventory Functions section of the Configuration Codes key concept for more details.
With options 3 and 4, the part's costs are calculated by the Expert Configurator using configuration costing. The difference between options 3 and 4 is how lot control is performed. Refer to the Inventory Functions section of the Configuration Codes key concept for more details
