Costing Considerations

 

It is possible that two or more sales orders could result in inventory with identical configuration codes.  All items with a matching configuration codes will be valued at a single cost.  If you want unique costs for each manufacturing order, the configuration code generation rules must be designed to result in unique configuration codes for each order. 

For configured parts that are purchased, costs can be automatically generated with a Finalize Cost Rule.  This rule should be issued in conjunction with the Purchase Part Rule and allows costs to be rolled up into the cost calculation for the end item.
