Inventory Accounting
Inventory Accounting processes configured items just like it processes standard items except that the costs will be retrieved from the Configuration Code File (EC140M) rather than the Part Master File (DE100M) or the Warehouse Balance File (IC140M).
The Inventory Journal Entry Generation conversation will generate standard cost changes and accounting code changes at the configuration code level. The lot number is used to link the inventory transaction to the configuration code. The accounting cost held on the Configuration Code File is used to value all inventory transactions for the configuration code.
The WIP Summary conversation calculates changes in standard costs, changes in inventory values, and current period activity for end items, components, and labor requirements. It also calculates variances if the order is to be accounting closed. Variances are calculated based on the difference between standard configured costs and actual costs.
