EDI Key Components and Issues
Combining your existing MAC-PAC functionality with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) features can increase the efficiency of your company's internal processing. EDI processing is the most efficient method of transferring business documents. In order to take advantage of MAC-PAC's EDI functionality, you should be familiar with the different components of an EDI system. Typically, an EDI system has four major components:
· Data Standards
· Trading Partners
· Translation Software
· Value Added Networks (VANs)
Each of these components impacts your EDI system. The figure below shows how these components interact with each other.
