RP Selective Parameters Retrieval - Purpose
RP102E
The RP Selective Parameters Retrieval program (RP102E) retrieves, in either actual or simulation RP run mode for a selective RP Generation only, any RP selective request records (i.e., RP110AP2) which exist for the part. The record is retrieved in order to see if a specific forecast consumption period code or value should override the value selected on the RP Generation Request record (RP110AP). This program is only invoked in the RP Generation jobstream by the RP Generation programs (RP100E, RP105E, and RP106E). The program attempts to retrieve them in order of specificity, as follows.
· Chain to see if a specific part exists. If so, use its forecast consumption period value.
· Next, chain to see if a record for the part’s Family ID field exists. If so, use its forecast consumption period value.
· Next, chain to see if a record for the part’s Planner Code file exists. If so, use its forecast consumption period value.
· Lastly, if no record was found in RP110AP2, or the record found had its forecast consumption period value as blank, then the value from the RP Generation Request Record (RP110AP) for the plant will be used as the last default value. It should be noted that if the Multi-Level Selective flag is Y (yes) on RP110AP, the lower level items in the bill of material will also be replanned, although they may not have had specific selective requests entered on RP110AP2 (by part, family ID, and/or planner). In this case, these lower level items will use the default forecast consumption period value from RP110AP for the given plant.
