Part Depletion Analysis Report - Purpose

RP107E

This program is used to suggest a date on which inventory for a particular item is expected to be depleted. The program is intended to be used for component parts that are becoming obsolete and that are being replaced by a new component item.  Items to be analyzed are defined using the Part Depletion Analysis Request program, RP330E, and are held on the Part Depletion Analysis Detail file, RP330AP2.  This program processes all parts for which analysis has been requested.  It calls the Requirements Review program, RP800E, in special mode to perform the actual inventory analysis.  The results are returned to this program, updated on the Part Depletion Analysis file, and printed on the Part Depletion report.  Parts which are analyzed and have planned supply have their P/M Net Change flag set to "2" (replan) to have RP Generation Delete any planned supply in the subsequent MRP run, assuming the component has been replaced in the product structure and/or users have stopped taking orders for the parent part or end-item which is considered an old/obsolete model.
