Cost Generation/Simulation - Purpose

PC100E

The Cost Generation/Simulation program (PC100E) calculates current and standard total costs for parts on the Part Master file (DE100M).  It also simulates costs for parts on the Part Master file.

Current total costs may be generated for all active parts or only for those parts that have had a change to a cost factor.  Standard total costs may be generated for parts and their parent parts if they were selected for recosting during part master maintenance.

Simulation cost generations allow the user to simulate changes to current cost factors on the Part Master and Workcenter files.  Total material, labor and overhead costs are calculated on a level-by-level basis, using the summarized implosion technique.

Options are available for cost generations and simulations to calculate the this-level costs for manufactured parts with or without routing operations maintained by the Manufacturing Engineering module and to print Product Cost Sheets immediately or defer until requested at a later time.  An option to specify whether current or simulated costs are to be rolled-over into standard costs is also available.
