Tentative Master Schedule Maintenance - Online - Purpose

MS160E

The Tentative Master Schedule Maintenance  - Online program (MS160E) allows you to maintain a tentative master schedule quantity for each period for each standard master scheduled part on the Tentative Master Schedule file (MS160M).

The program will generate a proposed master schedule quantity based on projected demand.  Alternatively, you may request to review and maintain an existing schedule for the current period.  A third alternative is to review and maintain a schedule beyond the firm horizon date.

Once the schedule has been displayed, you may maintain the master schedule quantity and the target inventory fields.  Any changes will be validated; if they are found to be valid, the program will invoke the asynchronous monitor to perform the actual master file updates via the Tentative Master Schedule Maintenance - Asynchronous program (MS165E).

You may also review the information in greater detail.  The program allows you to review detail screens, via command keys, for total demand, current schedule, or EDI demand.  You can modify the firmed and open manufacturing orders displayed on the schedule screen by the use of another asynchronous master file update.  From the demand screen, You may enter the Projected Demand Inquiry program (MS810E) or the Sales Order Inquiry program (OP800E) to review the sources contributing to demand, and then return to the Tentative Master Schedule Maintenance program at the exact point it was left, so none of the planning work is lost.
