Master Schedule Rollover - Purpose
MS180E
The Master Schedule Rollover program (MS180E) reads the tentative master schedule, a series of weekly quantities, and compares it to the current master schedule, that is, manufacturing orders, purchasing orders and requisitions, transfer orders and requisitions, and flow authorizations. The tentative and current master schedules are compared, and, where they do not agree for manufacturing orders, either planned orders are updated or action messages for firm and open orders are output to the user. For purchase requisitions, planned requisitions are updated or action messages for firm planned and released requisitions are output to the user. For transfer requisitions, planned requisitions are updated or action messages for released requisitions are output to the user. For flow authorizations, the scheduled quantities are automatically changed outside of the firm horizon. Within the firm horizon, action messages are generated when the scheduled quantities do not equal the tentative master schedule. The objective is to implement the tentative master schedule.
The Master Scheduling Rollover Requests report (MS180) is printed, which shows all rollover request transactions and lists a message for any errors that occurred in processing. If requested, the Master Scheduling Action report (MS540), which shows what actions were taken with planned orders and lists suggested actions for firm and open orders, and scheduled quantities within the firm horizon can be printed by the Master Scheduling Action Report program (MS540E).
