Lot Control Maintenance - Purpose
IC150E
The Lot Control Maintenance program (IC150E) allows you to enter and maintain lot records on the Lot Control file (IC150M). Both purchase order and manufacturing order lots may be added or changed; closed lots may be reopened. This program operates in Online Update mode. After a transaction is entered, any validation errors are highlighted and the appropriate error messages are displayed. Report records are written each time the Lot Control file is updated in order to record data base activity by part number key (for the Maintenance Audit Trail report) and track transaction entry by reference number (for the Transaction Register report). You can press F5 to call the Quality Control Specification Maintenance screen to record quality control specification values and a lot comment. You can also press F11 to call the Lot Comments screen on which up to 99 lines of comment text may be entered for each record.
The Inventory Control receipt program, Manufacturing Order Receipts and Component Issues (IC130E), also allows you to set up new lots. This program maintains the Lot Quantity and Lot FIFO Date fields. The Lot Control File Maintenance program does not maintain these two fields of lot control records. Other programs that allow you to automatically create lots are Receipt Quantity Control Maintenance (PO220E), Flow Receipts/Issues (Asynchronous) (JT125E), and SRA and Stock Transfers (IC120E).
