Component Requirements Generation - Purpose
IC104E
The Component Requirements Generation program (IC104E) generates the components required for a given manufacturing order by exploding through the first level of the ordered part's product structure. One component requirement transaction record is created for each component.
If the first-level part is a build-thru, lower levels are read until a non build-thru component is found or the product structure ends. Multiple component occurrences due to build-thru and product structure sequence must be compressed to a single occurrence.
This program can be called from the Manufacturing Order Maintenance program (IC100E) or Manufacturing Order Post program (IC102E). The Component Requirement Generation execution is dependent upon the parameters passed by the calling program. The parameter list is used to communicate what is to be exploded and the program mode. It is also used to pass back the result of the generation.
