Component Availability Inquiry - Purpose

IC810E

The Component Availability Inquiry program (IC810E) processes online inquiries for a part's availability.  By accessing the part's component requirements, its anticipated customer sales order shipments, and its anticipated manufacturing and purchase order receipts in date sequence, the part's availability problems are identified.

When the customer provides a requested date, the required ship date (to meet the customer's requested date) will be determined based on the shipping lead-time.  You may choose whether the ship-to customer's leadtime (as specified on the Ship-to Customer) or the shipping "zone" leadtime, based on the combination of ship-to customer location (zone), sourcing warehouse, and shipment route (i.e. next-day, two-day, etc.) should be used as the shipping lead-time.

To calculate the promise ship date, an "earliest" ship date will first be calculated.  You may choose to calculate this date based on a standard shipping lead-time for the warehouse or a standard distribution lead-time for the part.

The promise ship date will be set to the required ship date if the required date is on or after the earliest ship date, or if you have selected that the promise ship date should be forced to the required ship date for this particular customer (implying a rush order); otherwise, the promise ship date will be set to the earliest ship date.
