Batch Forecast Shipments - Purpose
IC140E
The Batch Forecast Shipments program (IC140E) provides an interface between Future Three and MACPAC for forecast shipments. It is run in batch mode to update inventory files in MACPAC. When called, the program reads a record from the Shipment Transaction file produced by Future Three (IC140APl), validates the fields in the record, updates MACPAC inventory files, and produces an Error Report file (IC140PFl) when necessary.
For each valid transaction record on IC140APl, part inventory levels are updated on the Warehouse Balance (IC140M) and Multiple Location (IC130M) files, the net change processing flag on the Part Master file (DE100M) is updated, the Demand Forecast file (MS150M) is updated with the quantity shipped, and the Transaction file (IC140APl) is updated with a code signifying the successful completion of the transaction record. Also, the unit cost is calculated for the part and placed on IC140APl for later use by the Forecast Billing program (IC110E).
For each valid transaction record, error messages are written to a printer file (IC140PFl) and the MS Transaction Register Error file (MS505AP). Changes to the Inventory Control and Master Scheduling master files are reflected on the Projected Demand Audit Trail (MS150BP), the Projected Demand Transaction Register (MS150CP), the Cust Order Shipment/Return Audit Trail (IC190BP), and the Co Ship/Return Transaction Register (IC190CP).
