Document Structure Maintenance - Online Update - Purpose

The Document Structure Maintenance - Online Update program (BD120E) maintains the Document Structure file (BD120M). It validates and processes add, change, and delete transactions online. For mass update transactions:
· The program validates the transaction online.
· The transactions are written to an asynchronous transaction file.
· A message and transaction key are sent to the Asynchronous Message queue.
· The Asynchronous Message Monitor reads the message and calls the Document Structure Mass Update program (BD220E) to process the transaction.
The user can continue to enter transactions during asynchronous processing.
For each valid maintenance transaction, an audit trail record and a transaction register record are written for reporting purposes.
