Synchro Locking - Purpose

GA220E

The Synchro Locking program (GA220E) locks shipments for which the shipping date has passed.  The program then passes the shipments to the Synchro Shipments Forwarding program (GA222E).  The new releases will lead to the creation of a new shipping proposal (also called picker) by GA230E the next day.

The Offset Release file (GA200M) is read to find all pickers to be blocked because the shipment date has passed.  If the current offset release is not firm and no delivery on forecast is allowed (meaning the flag ENDFOR on the Endorsement Master GA120M3 is set to 'N'), the offset release is closed.  Closed releases will no longer be used.  All corresponding delivery request header and lines (GA210M1, GA210M2) are blocked.  By blocking but not closing them, they can still be overwritten by a new delivery request.

Shipping proposal headers and lines (GA230M1, GA230M2) and their corresponding shipping list headers and lines (if existing on GA145M1, GA145M2) have forwarding flags which are set to 'Y' in order to indicate that new proposals must be created.  Prepared or frozen shipping lists associated with the shipping proposal can no longer be shipped.  For further information about the possible status of a shipping list, see the overview of the shipping list maintenance or the Synchro User Manual.

The backlog quantity on the Item/Delivery Point Master (GA120M2, field DPBKLQ) is updated to reflect the additional backlog, which needs to be satisfied by a new shipping proposal (to be created by GA222E).
