Synchro EDI Delivery Request Validation - Purpose

GA208E

The Synchro EDI Delivery Request  Validation program (GA208E) allows the acquisition of ANSI Delivery requests (ANSI X12 830 Delivery Schedule).  The program is divided into three main parts:

1.   Delivery request error control

2.   Synchro master/work files update

3.   Automatic purge of delivery request

Delivery Request Error Controls.

The program executes error controls at the header, item/delivery point, and release level.  If an error occurs at one of these levels, the system prints the delivery request in error on the ANSI Delivery Request Error report (GA208A).  The user can correct the delivery request in error through the ANSI Update conversation (GA340S01).  The user can test the correction by simulating an acquisition in the ANSI Update conversation.  During simulation, the program only updates ANSI workfiles.

Synchro Master/Work Files Update

The program updates the Synchro master files GA210M1, GA210M2, and GA210M3.  The program updates Synchro master files when at least one item/delivery point is valid.  If an error occurs at the item/delivery point, the system flags the Delivery Request Lines work file (GA208AP2).  If an error occurs on the header level, the system flags only the Delivery Request Header work file (GA208AP1).  Item/delivery point or header errors can be corrected and tested through the ANSI Update conversation.

Automatic Purge of Delivery Request

If the program has processed all the lines attached to the header, it deletes the delivery request message.

Globally, the ANSI Acquisition program performs the same error controls as the DELINS/VDA Acquisition program (GA210E).
