Shipping Planning Work File Generation - Purpose
GA280E
The Shipping Planning Work File Generation program (GA280E) is called in the daily batch process to prepare the planned shipments for the Shipping Schedule Inquiry (GA850E).
The Workfile Generation program regroups and accumulates shipments for each shipping company/warehouse by date, delivery point, and consolidation point. The accumulation is not limited to the generated shipping proposals. In the Shipping Schedule Inquiry, the user can list all scheduled shipments by entering only the horizon start date without specifying an end date. To create the scheduled shipment header, detail, and backlog quantities files (GA850AP, GA850BP, GA850CP), the shipping proposal header (GA230M1), and the offset release file (GA200M) are considered.
The following data from the Shipping Proposal Header file (GA230M1 is considered:
· shipping proposals which have not undergone the locking/forwarding process
· shipping proposal number
· shipping date
· shipping company/warehouse
· delivery point
· consolidation point
· weight and volume
From the Offset Release file (GA200M) all offset releases with status 'open' are read. These are the offset releases valid at the processing date and not yet considered for a shipping proposal. Offset Releases are regrouped by:
· shipping date
· shipping company/warehouse
· delivery date
· delivery point
· consolidation point
