Multi-Line Inventory Reservation - Purpose
OP165E
The Multi-Line Inventory Reservation program (OP165E) allows you to change the allocation of inventory among sales order lines. You can also maintain the promise ship date from this conversation. Transfer order lines are included in the display, but they cannot be maintained from this conversation. A function key is available to enter the transfer order maintenance conversation. This program maintains the inventory reservation and will only process order lines with distribution relief codes.
Some sales order lines cannot be maintained from this conversation; these include:
· Remote sourced lines that have a PO generated
· Bundle components
· Configured parts (on configured sales order)
· Orders which are in-use
· Orders which have a credit hold
· Lines which have a subsequent release qty > 0
· Child releases with a shipment status of confirmed (C or X)
Lines assigned to a one-time load are loaded, and you can maintain the reserved quantity. However, the promise ship date is protected. If the line is not assigned to a one-time load but the firm date flag is yes, the promise ship date is also protected.
The lines meeting the above mentioned criteria are displayed but protected. They are displayed to account for all the inventory reserved within the horizon, as well as to allow you to select the order and access Sales Order Maintenance. After making necessary changes to the orders displayed, you may either end the transaction, or press the refresh key (F5). The subfile will only be reloaded when you press the refresh key.
The updates will either be processed immediately or end-of-day. If processed immediately, the job will be submitted when F22 is pressed. The batch job verifies the order line to determine if significant changes have been made since the request; if they have, then the changes requested will not be processed. A report will be generated showing all changes requested and whether the changes were processed or not. Also, if the job is submitted end-of-day, multi-line inventory reservation may be requested again for the same part (i.e. the inventory allocations made previously may be modified). For example, if you want to request option 2 to display orders which are not as "critical" since they are in descending promise ship date sequence to "pull" inventory from; a second request may then be made for the same part by sequence 1 - promise ship date - ascending, to see the more critical orders first to which inventory should be allocated.
