The User Authority Maintenance Function Select Screen prompts you to specify a list of one or more user IDs for which you wish to maintain authority. The user authority(s) can be maintained either by copying an existing user authority or by selecting options on specific menus. The authority maintenance you perform on the following screens will be the same for all of the users specified on this screen. If any of the fields are invalid, the screen is re-displayed with an error message. When both fields are valid, the User Authority Maintenance Menu screen is displayed with a list of menus to which the security officer is authorized.
You may view existing option authority information for specific users by pressing F9 (Inquiry) to enter the User Authority Inquiry Conversation. When you exit from the inquiry conversation, you are returned to this screen and any information entered before the inquiry is displayed. You may exit from this maintenance conversation by pressing F3.
Please note that using the 'Copy From' option may take a lot of time to execute. The amount of time this request takes directly depends on the amount of changes to the user's authority. MAC-PAC needs to authorize or revoke objects for each change in the user's authorization. If there are multiple differences in the "copy from" user and the "copy to" user(s), this process can be very time consuming.
SECURITY OFFICER PASSWORD
Required. The password verifies the security officer's authority to maintain user access to options on a menu. The password must be defined on either Reference File category E15 (menu security officer) or E16 (system security officer). The system security officer is authorized to maintain user authority to any menu option in the system while menu security officers may only maintain user authority for menu options to which they are authorized.
USER ID
Required. The value assigned to the user which uniquely identifies the user when signing on to the system. The user ID must exist in the system library (QSYS). In this field, you should enter all of the user IDs to which you wish to maintain menu option authority.
COPY FROM ID
Optional. Allows the copy of a single user's authorization to one or multiple users (up to 16). If using this option, processing will take place from the Function Select screen and, when completed, will return control to this same screen. This field will copy all information from the user authority information specified in this field to any user IDs listed. If the listed user IDs exist, any new user authority records will be written and those that do not exist on the Copy From user ID will be deleted. If the user IDs do not exist, all user authority records will be copied from the Copy From user ID and written for the new user.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Displays the menu screen with the menu list corresponding to the security officer password you specified. If the security officer password or the user ID(s) is invalid, the screen is re-displayed with an error message.
F3 - Displays the application menu.
F9 - Transfers you to the User Authority Inquiry Conversation where you may view existing authorized menu options for specific users. When you exit the inquiry, you are returned to this screen which will contain any information entered before the inquiry.
