A menu displays a list of options from which you may choose to move through the system. The Menu Inquiry Function Select Screen allows you to enter the name of a menu or menu group to inquire upon. If the menu name or menu group you enter is invalid, you remain on this screen and an error message is displayed. Once the menu name or menu group is validated, the Menu Inquiry Detail Screen (MA800S02) is displayed, allowing you to view detail information about the menu or a list of menus in the menu group.
You may exit from this conversation by pressing F3=Exit. If you entered this inquiry through the inquiry function from another conversation, you will be returned to the same point in that conversation when you press F3.
MENU GROUP
Required (if menu name is blank). A menu group is a collection of related programs, each of which performs a business function. This field identifies the menu group you wish to inquire upon. The following validation is performed on this field:
The menu group must be defined on Reference File category 098 (Category Maintenance Areas).
At least one menu must be defined for the menu group on the Menu Master File (MA100M).
The field must not be blank if the menu name is blank. The field must be left-justified and cannot be all nines.
MENU NAME
Required (if menu group is blank). A menu is a list of options from which you may choose to access conversations or display other menus. The menu name uniquely identifies the menu you wish to inquire upon. The following validation is performed on this field:
The menu name must exist on the Menu Master File (MA100M).
This field must not be blank if the menu group is blank. The menu name must not be all nines, it must be left-justified, and no leading blanks are allowed.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Displays the detail screen with the menu information corresponding to the menu group or menu name you entered on the function select screen. If either field is invalid, you remain on this screen and an error message is displayed.
F3 - Displays the application menu. If you entered this conversation through the inquiry function key, you will be returned to the same point in the conversation from which you requested the inquiry.
F4 - Displays a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
