MA820S01 - Function Select

A menu consists of a list of options from which you may choose to access conversations or display other menus. The Menu/Option Inquiry Function Select Screen allows you to enter a menu name for which you wish to view a list of options. If the menu name you enter is invalid, you remain on this screen and an error message is displayed. Once the menu name is validated, the Menu/Option Inquiry Detail Screen (MA820S02) is displayed, allowing you to view the option information for the menu.
You may exit from this conversation by pressing F3=Exit. If you entered this inquiry through the inquiry function from another conversation, you will be returned to the same point in that conversation when you press F3.
MENU NAME
Required (if menu group is blank). A menu is a list of options from which you may choose to access conversations or display other menus. The menu name uniquely identifies the menu you wish to inquire upon. The following validation is performed on this field:
The menu name must exist on the Menu Master File (MA100M).
At least one option must be defined for the menu on the Menu/Options File (MA120M).
The menu name must not be blank or all nines.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Displays the detail screen with the option information corresponding to the menu name you entered on the function select screen. If the menu name is invalid, you remain on this screen and an error message is displayed.
F3 - Displays the application menu. If you entered this conversation through the inquiry function key, you will be returned to the same point in the conversation from which you requested the inquiry.
F4 - Displays a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
