The Initial Menu Inquiry Function Select Screen (MA850S01) allows you to enter an initial menu name or a user ID for which you wish to view initial menu assignments.  The information displayed depends on the field entered on this screen, as follows:

If you enter a user ID, the detail screen will display the menu name and description assigned as the user's initial menu.

If you enter a menu name, the detail screen will display all users who use the menu as an initial menu.

If the menu name and/or user ID you enter is invalid, you remain on this screen and an error message is displayed, prompting you to enter a valid menu name and/or user ID.  Once the menu name or user ID are valid, the corresponding detail screen is displayed.

INITIAL MENU NAME

Required (user ID is blank).  A menu consists of a list of options you can choose from to access conversations or display other menus.  If you do not enter a user ID, you may enter an initial menu name to view a list of users assigned to the menu as their initial menu.  An initial menu is displayed for a user when the user signs on to the system.  The following validation is performed on this field:

The menu name must exist on the Menu Master File (MA100M).

There must be at least one user assigned to the menu on the User/Menu Assignment File (MA150M).

This field must not be blank if the user ID field is blank, and this field must not be all nines.

USER ID

Required (if menu name is blank).  The user ID identifies the user when signing on to the system.  This is the user ID assigned to the user for whom you wish to view the initial menu assignment.  If you do not enter a menu name, you may specify a user ID.  The following validation is performed on this field:

An initial menu must be defined for the User ID on the User/Menu Assignment File (MA150M).

This field cannot be all nines.

COMMAND KEYS

Enter - Displays the detail screen corresponding to the information entered on this screen.  If either field on the function select screen is invalid, you remain on this screen and an error message is displayed.

F3    - Displays the application menu.  If you entered this conversation through the inquiry function key, you will be returned to the same point in the conversation from which you requested the inquiry.

F4    - Displays a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned.  If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
