The Initial Menu Assignment Function Select Screen prompts you to specify a security officer password to perform initial menu maintenance. You may add, delete, or change the initial menu assignment of a user by specifying the appropriate maintenance code in the maintenance code field.
An initial menu is the first menu displayed when the user signs on to the system. Only one initial menu can be assigned to a user. If an initial menu is not assigned to a user, the default menu from Reference File category E14 (system default menu) is displayed. Initial menu assignments are maintained on the User/Menu Assignment File (MA150M).
All fields on this screen are required. If the password or maintenance code is invalid, you remain on this screen and an error message is displayed. If both fields are valid, the Initial Menu Assignment Detail Screen is displayed.
You may view existing initial menu assignments for users by pressing F9 (Inquiry) to enter the Initial Menu Inquiry Conversation. When you exit from the inquiry conversation, you are returned to this screen and any information entered before the inquiry is displayed. You may exit from this maintenance conversation by pressing F3.
SECURITY OFFICER PASSWORD
Required. The password verifies the security officer's authority to maintain initial menu assignments. The following validation is performed on this field:
The security officer password must exist on either Reference File category E16 (system security officer) or E15 (menu security officer). The system security officer may maintain initial menu assignments for any menu in the system. A menu security officer may only maintain initial menu assignments for menus authorized to the officer.
When changing or deleting initial menu assignments, the security officer must have previously assigned an initial menu to at least one user.
MAINTENANCE CODE
Required. Must be one of the codes listed on this screen. Valid options are:
Assign. This allows you to assign an initial menu to the user on the User/Menu Assignment File (MA150M) which will be displayed when the user first signs on to the system.
Change. This allows you to change an initial menu assignment on the User/Menu Assignment File.
Delete. This allows you to delete an initial menu assignment from the User/Menu Assignment File. The deleted menu will no longer appear when the user signs on to the system.
COMMAND KEYS

F9 - Transfers you to the Initial Menu Inquiry Conversation where you may view existing initial menu assignments for users. When you exit the inquiry, you are returned to this screen which will contain any information entered before the inquiry.
