This screen allows you to add new help text, delete existing help, change the values of any fields associated with a help text line, or edit the existing help text. To move directly to a particular area of the text, type the corresponding help tag in the Scan for Tag field and press F7.
Each line of text must be entered or edited separately. The only required field is the Sequence (Sqnce) field. Please note, however, that the Help Tag field must be entered for every line that will be associated with a particular screen field during context-sensitive processing.
The following actions can be performed from this screen.
Add text. Type text directly in the Help Text field. Note that the text will not wrap to the next line. To avoid the need to tab past additional fields when you reach the end of each line, press F13 to restrict entry to the Help Text field. When you are done adding the text, press F13 again to return to full- screen entry.
Insert a single line of text. Type the new text on the maintenance line at the bottom of the screen, assign a sequence number to indicate where the new line should be inserted, and press Enter.
Delete a line. Place a 4 in the Sel field and press Enter.
Change the text. Type over the existing text. To insert text in the middle of a line, press the Insert key. Note, however, that you can only insert as many characters as there are blank spaces at the end of the line; the help text editor will not move additional characters to the next line.
Copy text from another screen. In the Copy fields at the top of the screen, enter the screen number and help tag identifying the text to be copied, then press F8. The text will be copied after the last line of text. You can then use the sequence numbers to insert the copied text in the correct place. Note that if you leave the From Tag field blank, all help text for the screen will be copied.
Rearrange lines. Type over the numbers in the Sqnce field to indicate what the new order should be.
Assign new line numbers. Enter the interval to be left between each sequence number in the Renumber By field and press F18. For example, to assign numbers 15, 30, 45, . . ., you would type 15 in the Renumber By field.
Save the text and return to the function select screen by pressing F19.
Exit the screen without saving any changes by pressing F3 or F10.
