Menu Display
Menu Display
The Menu Authorization Utility provides a dynamic display function that displays each menu with a set of function keys and a command line.
A menu is initially displayed with a list of user option numbers and the corresponding user option description. However, the dynamic menu display function provides a set of command keys for each menu to allow you to view the menu in a different format. The figure below shows the Order Processing Menu as it is initially displayed.

The Order Processing Menu as Initially Displayed.
The F15 function key allows you to display a list of valid mnemonic codes in the system. The figure below gives a sample of such a list when F15 is pressed from the Order Processing Menu.

This list is displayed if you press F15 - Mnemonic List.
The F19 function key allows you to toggle between displaying the menu with user option descriptions or with mnemonic codes. The figure below shows how the Order Processing Menu from figure 12 appears after F19 is pressed.

The Order Processing Menu after F19 - Mnemonic List is Pressed.
Notice that the F19 key now has the text 'Description Dsp'. If you press the F19 key
again, the user option descriptions will return.
The F19 key in will now re-display the menu with user option descriptions if pressed.
The dynamic menu display function also allows you to a command line from most screens in the system. This command line is displayed in a window on the screen, and may be used like any other command line. You may enter option numbers, fast paths, or mnemonics. To display the command line, press the F2 function key. See the figure below for an example of the Sales Order Maintenance Function Select Screen (OP100S01) after F2 is pressed.

The Sales Order Maintenance Function Select Screen (OP100S01) after F2 is Pressed.
As shown, a window appears with a command line and the standard function keys associated with a command line. You may enter an option, mnemonic, fast path, or system command. You may also display the mnemonic list (F15), prompt for valid values (F4), or exit the command line window (F3). To display the command line, you press the F2 function key.
