General Hardware Requirements
The bar coding documents have been designed to allow printing on a standard matrix printer with a graphics board. Stand-alone dedicated printers may also be used with minimal modifications. This facilitates the printing of codes on different media (for example, labels, plastic).
An interface unit is included between the terminal and its keyboard to allow the bar code reader to act as an alternative input source. Reading a bar code automatically transfers the decoded data to the field on the screen at which the cursor is positioned.
