This screen is used to enter projected demand, or forecast, for a part. You may enter projected demand for different market segments by specifying different Demand Types, or from different distribution warehouses by changing the company/warehouse. The demand can be entered in weekly, monthly, user-defined periods, or in daily periods.
COMPANY/WAREHOUSE
Required. Specifies the company and warehouse from which the demand is sourced. Defaults to the company/warehouse assigned to the workstation, but may be changed by pressing F17.
PART NUMBER
Required. Specifies the part for which projected demand will be maintained. Forecasts may be entered against any valid, active part whether controlled by Master Scheduling or Requirements Planning. Product families, or planning parts (Part Type '4'), may be entered. Demand entered for product families will be exploded to product level during the master scheduling generation process.
STARTING DATE
Required. Specifies the starting date for which projected demand is to be maintained. Must be a valid date and not greater than the last date on the Calendar File. The current date is displayed as a default.
DEMAND TYPE
Required. Specifies the source of demand (regions, market segments, etc.) for which the projected demand will be entered. It must be an existing demand type, and it must be a valid value in Reference File category 463.
CUSTOMER REFERENCE NUMBER
Optional. Valid values depend on values from Reference File category D26, EDI Defaults:
o If the Summary Flag is set to Yes and an EDI demand type is used, then this field must be blank.
o If the Summary Flag is set to No and an EDI demand type is used, then this field must NOT be blanks. It cannot be all nines.
PERIOD OPTION
Required. The option number identifying the planning period over which you wish to project demand. Valid values are:
1 - Calendar Weeks
2 - Calendar Months
3 - Calendar Periods
4 - Daily Intervals
Any existing projected demand will be retrieved and accumulated for the specified planning period. If an EDI demand type is entered, only Calendar Weeks is valid. Option 4 is valid only for daily master scheduled, requirements planning, and service parts (not standard master scheduled parts.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Display detail screen.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program and return to menu.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F9 - Enter the Projected Demand Inquiry program.
F17 - Change the Company/Warehouse.
