This screen is used to define or modify descriptive information about the key facility.
KEY FACILITY NUMBER
Required if not entered on the Function Select screen. Display only if entered on the Function Select screen. The key facility for which information is being entered or changed.
KEY FACILITY DESCRIPTION
Required. The key facility description appears on various reports and inquiries and is used to describe the key facility.
EFFECTIVE CAPACITY HOURS - 1
Required. Specifies the optimal capacity for the key facility in hours per working week. This field is displayed on the key facility load report and inquiry. The Effective Capacity Hours are compared to the calculated load (Total Run Hours) for the key facility for the week to determine if the key facility is overloaded or not.
ENDING DATE - 1
Required if Effective Capacity Hours - 2 is specified. This specifies the ending date for the corresponding effective capacity hours. Three capacity periods may be defined to reflect declining efficiency of machines, planned acquisitions of machines, additional shifts, larger work crews, etc.
DAY1 (IN %)
Optional. This field allows you to distribute the key facility's Effective Capacity Hours-1 over seven days by using percentages. The percentages must equal 100 percent. When adding a new key facility, if you do not enter anything, days 1-5 will default with 20% each while days 6-7 will be blank.
EFFECTIVE CAPACITY HOURS - 2
Required if Ending Date - 1 is specified. Specifies the optimal capacity for the key facility in hours per working week.
ENDING DATE - 2
Required if Effective Capacity Hours - 3 is specified. This field specifies the ending date for the corresponding effective capacity hours.

Required. This defines the standard efficiency of the key facility. It is displayed on the key facility load report and inquiry for comparison purposes.
UTILIZATION PERCENT
Required. This defines the standard utilization of the key facility. It is displayed on the key facility load report and inquiry for comparison purposes.
LOAD UNITS
Required. The load units is a descriptive measure of the type of load to be calculated for this key facility. If the load for this key facility is to be determined using information created from the routing file (Using Planned Routing Generation), the load units should be expressed in hours. If the load for this key facility is to be determined using a resource profile, the load units should correspond to the load being measured in the resource profile.
HOURS PER DAY
Required. This field is displayed on the key facility load report and inquiry. There is no calculation associated with this field.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Processes changes made on this screen and returns you to the Function Select screen.
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3 will remove it.
F3 - Exit program without updating changes and return to menu application screen.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, you will be returned to the application screen.
F9 - Enter the Key Facility Load Inquiry program. Pressing F3 from that screen will bring you back to the menu application screen.
F10 - Return to the Function Select screen without updating changes.
F11 - Enter the Department Composition Inquiry Program. This option only appears if the Manufacturing Engineering module is installed. Pressing F3 from that screen will bring you back to the ME menu application screen.
F15 - Respecify the key facility number.
