This screen displays either the available to promise information or the total demand information for the part entered on the Function Select screen. The planning period option chosen on the Function Select screen determines how the data is grouped on the screen. Quantities are expressed in the stockkeeping unit of measure. All fields are display only.
PLANT
Display only. Information is displayed based on supply and demand within this plant.
PART NUMBER/PART DESCRIPTION
Display only. These fields identify the item whose demand information is displayed; they were entered on the Function Select screen.
PLANNING BALANCE
Display only. This is the beginning inventory that is available for planning. This total is calculated as follows:
On-hand inventory
Plus Inventory at the manufacturing warehouse that is available for planning
Plus Work in process
Plus Distribution inventory at any distribution warehouse associated with the plant where the Available for Planning flag (on the Warehouse Description File) is Yes.
Minus Inventory reserved for customer orders (if any inventory balances are available for both planning and distribution but the Sales Order Planning flag on the Warehouse Description File indicates that sales orders sourced from distribution inventory are not included in demand calculations).
If the part is potency controlled, the quantity in this field is displayed in reverse image and reflects the planning balance in terms of potent units. Potent units are calculated as follows:
SKU for each balance type on each part/lot/location multiple location record
Multiplied by The actual potency on the lot control master record for the part/lot
Divided by The standard potency percentage on the Part Master record for the plant
PLANNER
Display only. The person responsible for this part.
CONSUMPTION CODE
Display only. This information indicates the types of demand that will be consumed or netted against forecast. Valid values are:
0 - No consumption
1 - Sales Orders/Transfer Orders/Transfer Requisitions/Synchro Offset Releases only
2 - Component Requirements/Flow Requirements only
3 - All requirements listed in options 1 and 2
DEMAND FENCE
Display only. A user-definable period of time. During this period, Master Scheduling will take into account consumable demand (rather than projected demand) for scheduling. After this period, MS again looks at projected demand when calculating the schedule.
AMOUNT OVERDUE/DATE RANGE
Display only. The period for which the data is displayed.
The same screen area displays either Consumed Demand (for the Available to Promise Inquiry) or Projected Demand (for the Total Demand Inquiry).
CONSUMED DEMAND
Display only. Depending on the value of the Consumption Code, which is found on the Part Master File, this field represents the total of consumed demand.
CONSUMPTION CODE VALUE
0 No consumption
1 Planned Sales Orders, Transfer Orders, Transfer Requisitions, and Synchro Offset Releases
Planned sales orders, transfer orders, and transfer requisitions are those that are considered to satisfy projected demand (forecast). They are entered with a Planned/Unplanned Code of 'P' through the corresponding maintenance conversations. (Synchro delivery requests are always planned). Sales orders are only included in this quantity if they will be relieved from manufacturing inventory or if they will be relieved from distribution inventory at the manufacturing warehouse and the Sales Order Planning flag (on the Warehouse Description File) for this manufacturing warehouse is Yes.
2 Component Requirements and Flow Requirements
3 All Requirements listed for codes 1 and 2
PROJECTED DEMAND
Display only. The forecasted quantity for the period entered through the Projected Demand Maintenance conversation.
The same screen area displays either Total Demand (for the Available to Promise Inquiry) or Consumed Demand (for the Total Demand Inquiry).
TOTAL DEMAND
Display only. Net demand plus unplanned customer orders, unconsumed demand, and EDI demand (if EDI is used).
CONSUMED DEMAND
Display only. Depending on the value of the Consumption Code, which is found on the Part Master File, this field represents the total of consumed demand.
