Changing Potency, and/or the Available for Planning Flag, and the Net Change Flag

Whenever you change the standard potency on the Part Master, or the actual potency, and/or the Available for Planning flag for a lot control record (part/lot combination), the net change flag on the Part Master File (DE100M) is set to reanalyze the item's inventory.  This occurs because any change to the standard or actual potency will affect the calculation formula, and, therefore, the actual beginning balance for the item in potent units. 

Because the net change flag is set to reanalyze whenever the actual potency or the Available for Planning flag is changed, you can use these features whenever you want to prevent specific lots from being planned during MRP—for example, if you use MAC-PAC's lot-control features but not its potency-control features; or if a particular lot is undergoing quality control inspection and you want to prevent it from being planned. 

To "hide" the lot from MRP during planning, set the Available for Planning flag to N (no), or set the actual potency for the lot to zero (0).  The latter action causes the beginning balance calculation to equal zero, which prevents the lot from being planned.  For example, to ensure that LOT33 from the previous screen sample is not planned during MRP, change the actual potency of Hydrogen Peroxide to 0, or set the Available for Planning flag to N. 

You may also set a part's actual potency to equal its standard potency, causing the potent beginning balance to equal the stockkeeping unit of measure's beginning balance.
