Implementing Changes Within the Firm Time Fence

Within the firm time fence, information found on flow authorizations (FAs) or flow requirements (FRs) cannot be changed.  For this reason, when a change occurs such that firm FAs and FRs are no longer valid (for example, the Net Change flag is set to 2 because of a change in part planning information or the bill of material), MS Rollover and RP Generation will automatically update the FA and corresponding FRs to reflect those changes.

Two primary changes are automatically implemented.

·     Revision level changes on the Revision Level File.  (Either manually added or generated due to a change in the bill of material.)

·     Changes in flow length.

The FA quantity, status, and other information will not change.  Action messages are generated to handle those situations.

It should be noted that the firm horizon processing in the Requirements Planning module (see Requirements Planning User Manual for more information) is not available when processing standard master scheduled parts.  The Master Scheduling Rollover process will create any needed supply (i.e., orders, requisitions, or flow schedules) in the period or periods selected.  Where JIT manufactured or build-thru parts have had their flow schedules firmed by the JIT Production Schedule Firm/Unfirm Program (JT230E), increase or decrease messages will be printed on the Master Scheduling Rollover Report.
