Data Audit Request

To reduce the possibility of aborts during IA period end processing, an IA data audit program highlights missing Reference File category information that may cause such aborts.  Examples of such information are missing category 023 (Current Accounting Period) records for company/location's with transactions, and missing adjustment codes on Reference File category 432.

The IA Data Audit program can be requested separately from the IA menu, and thus is run separately from IA period end processing.  If requested separately from IA period end processing, you will be allowed to run this program during the day and based on the results, make corrections before the IA period end processing job is requested and run overnight or during the weekend.

You can request the Data Audit processing from the IA Data Audit Request screen.  Through your request, Reference File category N30, IA Data Audit Request, will be updated with the data entered on the request screen.  Depending on the Data Audit Request flag on Reference File category N30, a new job will be submitted through the IA Pending Operations check.  This job will be defined on Reference File category E45, Pending Jobs Information.

The program will also produce the IA Data Audit report.  This report will display any missing information that could cause one of the IA period end post programs to abort.  If requested, separately from the IA menu, and there is no information missing, the report will simply say "No missing information for IA period end processing."

The data audit program can also be requested to run as part of IA period end processing through the IA Period End Request screen.  If this program is part of IA period end processing and missing information is found, IA period end processing will not continue.  If no missing information if found, a report will not be printed.

The report will capture the following missing information:

013 - Accounting calendar (for company/location)
015 - File status codes
405 - Part type codes
421 - IA defaults (keyed by company/location)
446 - Quantity size
456 - Accounting close grace period
432 - Adjustment codes
459 - Journal entry descriptions (should have records)
002 - Entity name (for company/location)
023 - Current accounting period (for company/location)
132 - Location defaults (for company/location)
136 - Next journal number (for company/location, plus key "IA")
