The Transaction Report Definition screen is used to enter and display transaction report specifications. A report description and the transaction specifications can be entered for each report. A report can be printed from the screen or saved for later execution.
The Transaction Report can be printed using a 132- or 198-character-wide format depending on the entries in category 025 in the Reference File. When the 198-character-wide format is selected, extra columns appear on the report. For more information, see the report description of the Financial Transaction Report (GL150) in the report section of this manual.
REPORT NUMBER
Required. The report number is a unique number assigned to a transaction report. This field is protected in review mode.
REPORT TITLE
Required. This field contains the report title that will appear at the top of each Transaction Report. The report title is a descriptive field and does not affect the report selected for processing.
REPORT GROUP
Optional. The report group allows the setup of transaction reports which may be selected for print as a group, rather than individually.
COMPANY/LOCATION
Required. The company/location field identifies the reporting entity for which a transaction report should be created. The combination entity must exist on the Reference File.
FROM ACCOUNT/CENTER
Optional. The account/center combination defines the account record/records to be processed. If the to account/center is left blank, only the from account/ center will be processed. If both the from and to account/center are entered, all account records within that range will be processed. The from account/center cannot be blank if the to account/center is entered. The account/center range entered must be valid accounts on the Account/Center Master File. If both the from and to account/center fields are blank, all account/centers for the company/location are processed.
TO ACCOUNT/CENTER
Optional. The account/center combination defines the account record/records to be processed. If the to account/center is left blank, only the from account/ center will be processed. If both the from and to account/center are entered, all account records within that range will be processed. The from account/center cannot be blank if the to account/center is entered. The account/center range entered must be valid accounts on the Account/Center Master File. If both the from and to account/centers are left blank, all account/centers for the company/location are processed.
SEQUENCE CODE
Required. The sequence code field determines whether to process the account/center range specified above in account number sequence or center number sequence. Valid values are:
A - Process account numbers in account sequence;
C - Process account numbers in center sequence.
FIN/STAT
Required. This field is used to determine whether to print transactions for financial or statistical accounts. Valid values are:
F - Print financial transactions only;
S - Print statistical transactions only.
FROM/TO FISCAL PERIOD/YEAR
Optional. The fiscal period/year combination defines the fiscal period for which transactions are processed. If the to fiscal period/year is left blank, only the from period/year will be processed. If both the from and the to period/year are entered, all fiscal periods within that range will be processed. The from period/year cannot be blank if the to period/year is entered. If both the from and the to year/period is left blank, the current fiscal year is assumed.
PRINT LEVEL
Required. The print level field determines the level of summarization to be performed when transaction reports are printed. Valid values are:
D - Print detail journal transactions on report;
A - Summarize journal transactions to the account number level;
C - Summarize journal transactions to the center number level.
BREAK 1 POSITION
Optional. This field is used to determine the account number position at which the first (highest) account number level subtotal is printed. Valid values are 1-9.
BREAK 1 DESCRIPTION
Optional. This field is used to define the description associated with the first account number level subtotal amount.
BREAK 2 POSITION
Optional. This field is used to determine the account number position at which the second account number level subtotal is printed. Valid values are 1-9.
BREAK 2 DESCRIPTION
Optional. This field is used to define the description associated with the second account number level subtotal amount.
FOREIGN AMOUNTS
Required. This field is used to control the printing of foreign currency amounts on the transaction report. Valid values are:
Y - Print foreign and base currency amounts;
N - Print base currency amounts only.
COPIES
Required. This field is used to specify how many copies of the report to print. Valid values are 1-9.
SUBMIT
Optional. The submit flag specifies whether a report should be submitted for later execution or whether the report should be generated immediately. Immediate processing is usually reserved for low volume requests because the terminal used to request the processing will not be available until the processing is completed. Valid values are:
Y - Submit processing request for later batch execution;
N - Perform processing interactively.
COMMAND KEYS
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F9 - Display the Transaction Report Selection screen.
F10 - Display the Transaction Report Search screen.
F11 - Display the Transaction Report Definition screen in enter mode. This command key is displayed in review mode only.
F14 - Delete the displayed report definition. This command key is displayed in review mode only.
