The Responsibility Report Title File Mass Maintenance screen is used to duplicate title file records or change a report number. The screen is divided into separate parts for create transactions and change transactions. Only one type of maintenance function can be requested at a time. Three types of duplication requests can be performed: duplicate a single record (to the same or to a different report), duplicate a range of records to a new report, and duplicate an entire report to a new report. The fields in the duplicate portion of the screen can be grouped by function: from report, to report, from minor responsibility code/company/location/ account/sequence number, and to minor responsibility code/company/location/account/sequence number.
THE FOLLOWING FIELDS ARE USED TO CREATE RECORDS:
FROM/TO REPORT
Optional. This field is used to specify the source and target major responsibility codes for which Responsibility Reports are being created. The from code must already be set up on the Responsibility Report Title and Line Description Files.
FROM/TO MINOR CODE/COMPANY/LOCATION/ACCOUNT/SEQUENCE
Optional. These fields are required if creating a single record or creating a range of records to a new report. The from fields specify the starting source line description record to create. The to fields specify the ending source line description record to create. If the to fields are left blank, only one record will be created. If both the from and to fields are left blank, all records for the major responsibility code will be created.
THE FOLLOWING FIELDS ARE USED TO CHANGE REPORTS
REPORT
Required if a Change Report transaction is being entered. Must be blank for a Create Report transaction. The report to be changed. The 'From' values on the report will be changed to their corresponding 'To' values, as specified on this screen.
MINOR CODE/COMPANY/LOCATION/ACCOUNT/SEQUENCE NUMBER
Optional. The change portion of this screen is used to change the report minor responsibility code/company/ location/account/sequence number of an existing report. This is done by entering the report to be changed in the from fields and entering the new report field values in the to fields. The mass maintenance screen will not accept a blank report.
The first group of from/to records determine the starting and ending points for a range of records to be changed. If the to fields are left blank, then only one record will be changed. If both the from/to fields are entered with values, then a range of records will be changed.
The second group of from and to fields specify the file records to be modified (from values) and the new values to be placed in those (to values). Records with at least one of the specified from field values have the matching fields changed to the specified to field values. If the from field is entered, the to field must be entered.
SUBMIT CODE
Required. Indicates whether this mass maintenance transaction will be submitted for later execution or processed immediately. Immediate processing is usually reserved for low volume requests because the terminal used to request the processing will not be available until the processing is completed. Valid codes are:
Y - Submit processing request for later batch execution;
N - Perform processing interactively.
COMMAND KEYS
F2 - Display a window where a fast path option or mnemonic can be entered. Fast path allows the next menu selection to be made directly from this screen. When the window is displayed, pressing F3-Exit will remove it.
F3 - Exit the program and return to the menu.
F4 - Display a list of values for the field where the cursor is positioned. If you select one of the items from the list, it will be returned to the application screen.
F7 - Display a blank Heading screen in enter mode.
F8 - Display a blank Line Description screen in enter mode.
F10 - Display the search screen, which allows you to select a heading or line description record that has already been created.
F24 - Display additional command keys available from this screen.
