Remote Sourcing

 

Remote sourcing provides the ability of a MAC-PAC location (acting as a sales office) to source the goods of a sales order from a remote site or outside vendor.  This functionality is used so that a sales office can track the processing of an order being outsourced to a remote site to fill an end customer's order.

The remote sourcing functionality also supports the automatic generation of purchase orders from sales orders.  The majority of processing takes place at the sales office when they convert an incoming sales order into an outbound purchase order.  The figure below shows a typical remote sourcing scenario.  As shown below, the goods may or may not pass through the sales office.
