Processing Principles

Computer integrated distribution processing within MAC-PAC is governed by several principles.

Note:    Although CID transactions do not require Electronic Data Interchange  for processing, many of the principles below assume that you will use the EDI component of CID.

·     Checkpoints are provided so that you can control the flow as each transaction is processed (for a list of system checkpoints, see below).

·     Outbound transactions may be sent in several formats:  printed, electronically, or both.

·     The system will provide reprints of outbound transactions.  Reprints can be reissued in several formats:  printed, electronically, or both.

·     Inbound EDI transactions are validated.  If any part of a transaction is invalid, an associated online exception review program can facilitate correction.

·     For remotely sourced orders, purchase orders can be created automatically from sales orders.  In addition, the purchase order line will contain information to identify the associated sales order line and the sales order line will contain information to identify the associated purchase order line.
