Rule Syntax
Rule Syntax
Each rule consists of a condition expression and from zero to two action expressions. The condition is interpreted to determine if the action expressions are to be processed. The action expression portion of rule syntax defines the specific details of the rule. Each type of rule has different action expressions. Rule types are indicated by action codes. Individual rule types and action codes are discussed in individual key concepts later in this section. Zero to two action expressions will be processed depending on the interpreted condition of the rule.
The result of a rule is directly related to the result of the condition. The condition expression determines if the action expressions should be processed based on a true interpretation or a false interpretation of the condition expression. The expressions are interpreted when the interpretation of the rule condition expression matches the defined rule result.
There are three types of expressions, a syntax expression, a text type expression, and screen detail expression
