Breakdown
Configuration codes may consist of a series of options, abbreviations for options, or other pieces of information available to the Expert Configurator. Any sales order configured part that is lot controlled or lot assignable may use the configuration code and expanded configuration code features. Unique configuration codes will be assigned to each unique configuration of inventory. The codes are formatted during sales order entry based on the options selected by the customer. The configuration code allows you to see the characteristics of configured items held in stock. It also identifies any inventory that may be used to fill customer orders. Configuration codes can be formatted with any feature available to the Expert Configurator. These features are:
· Options
· Secondary Variables
· Global Variables
· Internal Variables
· Hard Coded Literals
Typically, configuration codes are formatted automatically by the Expert Configurator during sales order entry. You may, however, create them manually through the Configuration Code Maintenance conversation.
