The Run-Time Components of BuyDesign Configurator
The product configuration engine provides the primary run-time components of BuyDesign Configurator. It operates as a service to one or more applications, using the product models developed in the BuyDesign Design Studio to deliver exactly the configuration experience each user needs. It makes it fast and easy for your sales people and/or customers to select, configure, and price your products. At the same time, it ensures that only valid combinations of features, options, and dimensions are created, quoted, and ordered.
The BuyDesign product configuration engine is made up of two components – the core engine itself and the user interface.
Core Engine
The core configuration engine processes the rules, constraints and associated data in BuyDesign product models based on inputs from the user interface or other applications to provide a number of important functions.
User Interface
A dynamic user interface makes the entire configuration experience highly intuitive, productive, and personalized.
