This category allows you to combine a field set and an action code to define a window. The window you define can be viewed in various maintenance and inquiry conversations throughout MAC-PAC.
FIELD SET(8) ACTION CODE(2)
Required. Enter a valid field set from the Reference File category 031. Also, enter an action code of your choice. This is the action code you will enter on MAC-PAC application screens to view the window.

This screen allows you to maintain detail information about the window.
WINDOW INDICATOR
Required. Enter a valid window indicator from Reference File category 030. This indicator dictates what function will execute when the action code is entered. Valid values are:
WN - Generic Window Program
CP - Custom Program
01 through 12 - Pre-defined MAC-PAC Programs
WINDOW TITLE
Optional. Enter a title for your window. This title will appear every time the window is accessed. Be sure to center the text within the field so it will be centered in the window. This field will only be accessed if your window is using the generic windows program (window indicator = WN).
STARTING POSITION
Optional. Enter the starting position (column and row) for the upper left hand corner of your window. This field will only be accessed if your window is using the generic windows program (window indicator = WN).
SIZE
Optional. Enter the size of your window. This field will only be accessed if your window is using the generic windows program (window indicator = WN). Valid values are S-Small (allowing eight lines of text) or L-Large (allowing fourteen lines of text).
EXTERNAL PROGRAM
Optional. If you have entered a window indicator of CP- Custom Program this field needs to hold that program name. If you have entered a window indicator of WN Generic Windows Program this field will either be blank or hold the custom program that is overriding the generic windows program.
ALTERNATE FIELD SET
Optional. If this field set/window indicator combination has an alternate field set that is valid for this window indicator enter the name of that field set here. Note: You must also create a record in this category for the alternate field set and this window indicator.
PROMPT DESCRIPTION
Optional. Enter a description for your window that will appear when the action code field is prompted from maintenance or inquiry conversations. Be sure this description is left-justified.
DISPLAY THE 50-CHARACTER FIELD
Optional. Enter a Y-Yes if you wish to display the optional 50-character field in your window. Enter a N-No if you do not want the field to display. This field will only be accessed if your window is used the generic windows program (window indicator = WN). This field is typically the Expert Configurator's configuration code.
