The Transaction Types for Vertex category is used by Vertex when calculating US taxes for domestic customers.
This Reference File category is only used with the Vertex tax calculation package.
TRANSACTION TYPE
Required. Enter up to a five-character transaction type to be added, changed, deleted, or inquired upon.

This screen is used to define valid transaction types for Vertex, which are used in calculating taxes.
DESCRIPTION
Required. Enter a valid transaction type. Some possible values include the following:
SALE - The line is a sale transaction.
LEASE - The line item is a lease transaction.
RENTAL - The line item is a rental transaction.
SERVIC - The line item is a service transaction.
PURCH - The line item is a purchase transaction..
