Labels generated through the Synchro module identify the contents of a shipment. Different information is printed on the labels depending on the type of label you request. The Synchro module supports six types of labels, each corresponding to the GALIA standard. These are:

1 - Packaging unit label (PU). This label corresponds to the unit in which an item is packaged after manufacturing. For example, you may package bolts in boxes of 100. In this case, your packaging unit for the bolts is a box.

2 - Main handling unit. This label corresponds to the method in which you handle and ship an item. You may package bolts in boxes of 100, but handle and ship them by pallets. In this case, your main handling unit for the bolts is a pallet.

3 - Simplified handling unit (SHU).

4 - Mixed handling unit (MHU). This type of label corresponds to shipments of mixed items. For example, a delivery request made by one of your customers requires that you ship several different items at the same time to that customer. You can use a mixed handling unit label to associate all of the different items included in the shipment.

5 - Simplified packaging unit. This type of label corresponds to the unit in which a small item is packaged after manufacturing.

6 - KANBAN labels.

This is a required category if the Synchro module is installed in your system.

LABEL TYPE

Required. Enter the one-digit code that corresponds to the label type you are defining.

MAINTENANCE CODE

Required. Enter the code corresponding to the maintenance you are performing on this label type.

This screen allows you to maintain the text corresponding to the label type you entered on the function select screen of this category. You can also specify whether labels of this type are to be printed automatically during the daily batch process when lot maintenance functionality's are used.

DESCRIPTION

Required. Enter the description of the label type you are maintaining.

PRINT LABEL (Y/N)

Optional. Indicates whether the labels associated with the type entered should be automatically printed during the daily batch process, when the items that correspond to labels are lot-controlled. This field is only applicable for packaging unit labels and handling unit labels.
