The Action Codes category defines valid action codes for rule types used in the Expert Configurator Module. Each of the rules used in the Expert Configurator module is assigned a user-defined action code. This action code is used in rule maintenance, inquiry, and reporting.
ACTION CODE
Required. Enter the user defined action code which defines the type of rule.

This screen allows you to define the action code entered on the function select screen.
ACTION CODE
Display only. Action code you entered on select screen is displayed.
ACTION CODE DESCRIPTION
Optional. Enter the user-defined description of the action code centered as it will appear on maintenance screens, inquiry screens, and reports. If the printer used for reports does not support lower case characters, then enter the description in upper case characters.
RESULTANT 1 DESCRIPTION
Optional. Enter the field heading for resultant 1 that will appear on the Expert Configurator Rules Maintenance or Inquiry screens as well as Reports. If the printer used for reports does not support lower case characters, then enter the field heading in upper case characters.
RESULTANT 2 DESCRIPTION
Optional. Enter the field heading for Resultant 2 that will appear on the Expert Configurator Rules Maintenance and Inquiry screens as well Reports. If the printer used for reports does not support lower case characters, then enter the field heading in upper case characters.
VALIDATION FLAG
Required. There are three interpretation flags. The first flag applies to the rule condition. The second flag applies to resultant 1. The third flag applies to resultant 2. Each of these flags must be either Y, N, or blank.
If you enter a Y, the input field appears on the Rules Maintenance screen, and input data is interpreted by the Expert Configurator. Enter a Y for syntax expressions.
If you enter an N, the input field appears on the rules maintenance screen, but input data will not be interpreted by the Expert Configurator.
If you leave this field blank, no input field will appear on the Rules Maintenance screen.
DB TYPES
Required. This field defines the rule category or categories for which a rule is valid. Valid rule categories are:
D - Sales Order Entry (Distribution)
M - Manufacturing
P - Pricing
RESULTANT 1 LENGTH
Optional. Defines the input field length for Resultant 1. Valid length codes are:

If this field is left blank, length defaults to 320.
RESULTANT 2 LENGTH
Optional. Defines the length of the input field for Resultant 2. Valid length codes are the same as for Resultant 1.
INTERNATIONAL ACTION CODE
Required. This is the internal representation to the system for the action code. The international action code is constant: a specified international action code will always represent a specified type of rule.
International action codes are:
01 - Component requirement rule
02 - Labor requirement rule
03 - Condition rule
04 - Generate comment rule
05 - Modify option rule
06 - End debug rule
07 - Screen generation rule
09 - Screen validation rule
10 - Secondary variable rule
11 - Start debug rule
12 - Finalize price rule
13 - Global variable rule
14 - Configured component rule
15 - Price detail rule
16 - Create external parameter rule
17 - Manufacturing detail rule
18 - Finalize commit date rule
19 - Availability date rule
23 - External program rule
