ACTION CODE

Display only.  Action code you entered on select screen is displayed.

ACTION CODE DESCRIPTION

Optional.  Enter the user-defined description of the action code centered as it will appear on maintenance screens, inquiry screens, and reports.  If the printer used for reports does not support lower case characters, then enter the description in upper case characters.

RESULTANT 1 DESCRIPTION

Optional.  Enter the field heading for resultant 1 that will appear on the Expert Configurator Rules Maintenance or Inquiry screens as well as Reports.  If the printer used for reports does not support lower case characters, then enter the field heading in upper case characters.

RESULTANT 2 DESCRIPTION

Optional.  Enter the field heading for Resultant 2 that will appear on the Expert Configurator Rules Maintenance and Inquiry screens as well Reports.  If the printer used for reports does not support lower case characters, then enter the field heading in upper case characters.

VALIDATION FLAG

Required.  There are three interpretation flags.  The first flag applies to the rule condition.  The second flag applies to resultant 1.  The third flag applies to resultant 2.  Each of these flags must be either Y, N, or blank.

If you enter a Y, the input field appears on the Rules Maintenance screen, and input data is interpreted by the Expert Configurator.  Enter a Y for syntax expressions.

If you enter an N, the input field appears on the rules maintenance screen, but input data will not be interpreted by the Expert Configurator.

If you leave this field blank, no input field will appear on the Rules Maintenance screen.

DB TYPES

Required.  This field defines the rule category or categories for which a rule is valid.  Valid rule categories are:

D - Sales Order Entry (Distribution)

M - Manufacturing

P - Pricing

RESULTANT 1 LENGTH

Optional.  Defines the input field length for Resultant 1.  Valid length codes are:

Length Code               Length

1                                      5

2                                      15

3                                      25

If this field is left blank, length defaults to 320.

RESULTANT 2 LENGTH

Optional.  Defines the length of the input field for Resultant 2.  Valid length codes are the same as for Resultant 1.

INTERNATIONAL ACTION CODE

Required.  This is the internal representation to the system for the action code.  The international action code is constant:  a specified international action code will always represent a specified type of rule.

International action codes are:

01 - Component requirement rule

02 - Labor requirement rule

03 - Condition rule

04 - Generate comment rule

05 - Modify option rule

06 - End debug rule

07 - Screen generation rule

09 - Screen validation rule

10 - Secondary variable rule

11 - Start debug rule

12 - Finalize price rule

13 - Global variable rule

14 - Configured component rule

15 - Price detail rule

16 - Create external parameter rule

17 - Manufacturing detail rule
